July 3, 2025: U.S. Nonfarm Payrolls Report
The report showed 147,000 jobs added in June, exceeding expectations, with the unemployment rate falling to 4.1%. However, private sector job growth was the weakest since October 2024, with 73,000 of the gains from government jobs. This reduced expectations for a July rate cut to 5% from 25%.
